SMS Opt-In & Consent

This page documents, without requiring a login, exactly how and where candidates give consent to receive SMS text messages from 1855 Partners. It exists so this can be verified publicly — see our Terms and Conditions for the full SMS program disclosures (opt-out, help, carrier liability, message frequency).

1. Opt-in via the online job application

When a candidate applies for a role on our careers site, the application form includes an explicit, unchecked-by-default checkbox to opt in to SMS. This is a live, exact reproduction of that checkbox and its copy — not a mockup:

You can see this checkbox live, on the application tab of any open position — for example: hcm.1855partners.com/careers/…/apply (scroll to the bottom of the Application tab), or browse all open roles at hcm.1855partners.com/careers. No account or login is required to view or submit the application.

2. Opt-in via text-to-apply (“Apply by Text”)

For roles with text-to-apply enabled, a candidate proactively initiates the conversation by texting a keyword (e.g. “APPLY”) to our recruiting number. Because the candidate sends the first message, this itself is the opt-in action — a standard, carrier-recognized consent mechanism. We reply to guide them through a short application, and every message is subject to the same STOP/HELP handling as the web-form flow.

The confirmation and help language a candidate actually receives:

HELP reply: “1855 Partners recruiting messages. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe. For help, contact hello@1855partners.com.”

STOP confirmation: candidate is unsubscribed and receives no further messages until they text START, which re-subscribes them.

3. Employee pay stub notices

1855 Partners texts employees of companies that use the 1855 platform when a new pay stub is ready to view, about once per pay period. These messages go only to employees who opted in, in one of three ways.

1. During online onboarding. The new-hire form (reached from the employee’s personal onboarding invitation) includes this checkbox, unchecked by default. This is an exact reproduction of its wording:

2. In their own account settings. A signed-in employee can turn pay stub texts on or off at any time, with the same disclosure.

3. A signed paper consent form. For employees hired before online onboarding, the employer collects a signed consent form with the same wording, and the date is recorded on the employee’s profile. Nobody can turn texts back on for someone who opted out; only the employee can, by replying START or in their settings.

Example messages (English, or English and Spanish, by the employee’s language setting):

“1855 Partners: Your pay stub for Oct 3 is ready. https://hcm.1855partners.com/s/… Reply STOP to opt out.”

“1855 Partners: Tu talón de pago del 26 de septiembre está listo. Your pay stub for Sep 26 is ready. https://hcm.1855partners.com/s/… Responde STOP para cancelar. Reply STOP to opt out.”

Messages never contain the pay amount.

Opt-out is always available

Any candidate can text STOP at any time to any message from us to unsubscribe immediately, or HELP for assistance. See the Terms and Conditions for the complete program description.
